In times of rapid change it is essential to have ready a selection of approaches to cope with, manage and even capitalise on the inevitable rise of conflict. Balancing elements such as employee resistance to change vs. what's best for the organisation, customer demand vs. profitability, or collaborative advantage vs. unilateral benefit, can seem a daunting task. But there are ways to turn this challenge into an opportunity.

Accepting that conflict and collaboration are inseparable sides of the same coin and understanding that one can morph into the other forms the basis of managing the situation.

This seminar provides you with a toolbox of approaches to help you to appraise situations on their own terms, identify which opportunities to seize and ways to restore balance and calm in difficult situations, drawing on the expertise of our speaker, Prof Jim Bryant, an internationally-renowned researcher, trainer and consultant in the specialist area of conflict management and partnerships.

Think Green. Save Money

Steven Walker -
Head of Local Business - Kinnarps (UK) Ltd

The Kinnarps presentation will focus on the benefits that local businesses can derive from a move to more sustainable thinking and embracing new ideas in the office.

‘Going green’ is often perceived to incur cost and take up valuable time… only adding value where customers are demanding it - plus a little ‘feel good factor’. The reality is that true sustainability originates from a natural desire to save resource, reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Kinnarps will briefly introduce their sustainability credentials – an interesting insight into what to look for when purchasing furniture – but then lead quickly to how organisations can save money by going green. From clever use of space to energy saving ideas and dynamic lighting, their ‘Green Ideas at Work’ form the core of a new Think Green. Save Money campaign.

The presentation will also show how ergonomics and people are at the centre of any working environment, leading to low absenteeism, staff efficiencies and higher motivation.  Any business leader who is looking to save costs and drive prosperity in all areas of their organisation will find something to take away from this presentation.

Marketing in a Digital World

With marketing and consumer budgets under huge pressure, marketeers need more than ever to 'do more with less'.

Digital media is an increasingly important part of the mix for brands communicating with target customers. But if you view digital as something you simply add to your media schedule, you miss out. Because the mass market consumer is digital, because competitors are digital, and because technology and behaviour are changing faster than ever before.

We believe that marketeers can gain advantage during the downturn and sustain this for the long term if they look at the world through 'a digital lens'. There are real-time insights into consumer and competitor behaviour, ways of mass communication which allow targeting and tailoring to individuals, and ways to adapt strategies and tactics by the minute.
