The Business Link Innovation Lounge is a 300 capacity theatre that will host a plethora of keynote speakers from the world of business. Leading entrepreneurs will deliver advice and inspiration while our business leaders will deliver relevant educational keynotes about the economy and many other relevant business subjects.

Having experienced huge success at a young age, Karren will be addressing the Yorkshire Post Business Breakfast to reveal how she achieved her rise to success, her effective leadership strategies and business growth advice. Consistently recognised as one of the leading women in business, Karren has won a host of prestigious awards, both in the business field and for her inspiration to women.

This Seminar will be introduced by Bernard Ginns, the Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post. Karren will be finishing at 9.45 to allow for a 15 min Q and A session with the audience.

Sarah McVittie, CEO, and co-founder of Texperts will be talking about how she developed her initial idea for Texperts, an informative texting service to mobile telephone users, into a fundable proposition and then how she courted and won the wallets of her angel backers.  Since the service launched in 2003, Sarah not only raised £3m from angel investors, while ensuring that its service could operate across all UK mobile networks, she also collected a host of awards & prizes for her innovative idea and business.  Aged just 25, Sarah and Thomas left their jobs in the city and set up the very first mobile text information service.  In a short time and with little resources, Sarah has taken Texperts from a mere idea to becoming a recognised pioneer in the creation of a market segment with substantial potential within the mobile industry. Sarah is going to talk through her journey and share some of her key learning’s of how to realise a vision on nothing but a wing and a prayer!

Heather is an inspirational speaker whose mission is to make life exciting and she has learnt a lot about the psychology of influence and converted it to usable, teachable material to change the lives of others.

Richard Richardson teaches how to grow a business on a low budget. Together with business partner John Barnes, Richard Richardson became the driving force behind successful international brand Harry Ramsden’s, turning it from a single Fish and Chip shop into a globally recognized product.

After years of working with big budgets they ended up with no money left for marketing Harry Ramsden’s, and thus developed a new way of thinking which they eventually called ‘Marketing Judo’; where skill matters more than size and you can use the weight of your opponent to your advantage.

Hand picked from a nation of aspiring business wannabes, Kristina Grimes and Jennifer Celerier went on to prove their business acumen by impressing Sir Alan Sugar (and the nation) in consecutive weeks on famed television show; BBC’s The Apprentice. Kristina was runner up 2007 much to public outcry and being famed as ‘the one that should have won’. Jennifer, despite her unquestionable ability was shown the door in episode 7 due to her lack of knowledge of ‘Kosher’ in 2008.

The two have now joined forces to form their own company, set up to compensate for the deficit of quality Business and Performance Excellence Training in the UK, combining motivational training with skill set. They will deliver a fun filled hour session focusing on:
